Hello, I'm Rich Wilcox.
A Cheeky London Photographer.

Oh, hi there 👋

I’m a rather cheeky visual artist hatching graphic-style works outta North London (though I call from the Midlands). If there’s one thing to know about me, I like to play with my food! I didn’t exactly grow up surrounded by art, more biking to the brook, fishing tadpoles than Bauhaus books and navel-gazing eye-rolls. For me, art should be bloody good fun and accessible. I like it bold and colourful. I hold a candle for Hockney, and my favourite film is La La Land. Everything downstream from there flows. I like space and tension. The Beatles, The Stones, G-Plan table units and marmalade skies are all on the menu, somewhat of an old soul in that sense. If I were a colour, it would be orange; warm, bold, kick you in the shin and give you a cuddle, zingy-tangy, glorious, sun-soaked-ORANGE baby!

Pixar is one of my greatest sources of inspiration. I wanna make you smile, laugh, and if you look hard enough, cry. My personal work is self-styled and largely intuitive. I take a mindful approach and try to work my current feelings and fascinations into my imagery. I’m not interested in bougie trinkets; almost everything I work with is found in my home, a local charity shop, or the park. I anthropomorphise my subjects, offering a reflection of the human experience through the otherwise overlooked. All under the disarming guise of play. Without the biases of the identity of the individual, I create work that explores compassion, satirical critique, inspiration, adoration, and admonishment. All from a perspective of unwavering optimism, hoping to connect people through the observation of the universality of human emotion and innate beauty.

I am an expert vetted creator on Upwork, operating in the top fraction of a % of freelancers on the global platform (light flex). I have worked with International clients, including Johnson & Johnson, Aveeno and The Vegan Society. Nonetheless, I am also comfortable art-directing and producing shoots for artisanal brands and start-ups.

If this all sounds a bit of you, drop me a line, a call or maybe even a fax. If I don’t get back to you right away, I’m probably off hiking in the mountains, in which case, patience or a carrier pigeon are your best bet.
